Drops
Drops
A drop is a batch with a clock on it. You set what you are making, how many, and when it opens and closes. When you’re ready, open it and send the announcement with one tap. BatchDrop closes it on time.
Included on Basic
You open it, it closes on time
- Set an opening time and a closing time. When you’re ready, open the drop from its page. A background job checks every minute and closes it at the time you picked, so ordering stops on time without an alarm.
Quantity limits you set
- Each item in a drop carries its own quantity, and every order lands in your dashboard against it the moment it is placed. An item is counted as sold when you mark the order paid, so check the unpaid orders before you mark the last few paid.
Pickup details on the drop page
- Add a pickup address, and put which door and what hours in the drop’s description. Both show on the drop page before anyone orders. There are no shipping labels or carriers — handing things over is up to you.
An announcement in one tap
- Once the drop is open, one tap texts everyone on your list who opted in, with a link to order. Send it when your customers are actually looking at their phones.
A lifecycle you can see
- A drop starts as a draft, opens when you open it, closes on time, and is marked fulfilled once everything is handed over. If a batch does not come together, cancel it at any point before fulfilment.
Every order lands in your dashboard
- Every order against a drop shows up in your dashboard, itemized by what sold, so you can see exactly what is left and who has paid. Mark an order fulfilled and the customer gets a text saying it is ready, unless they have texted STOP. On your storefront, the drop page updates live as orders are paid — buyers can watch a drop sell out without refreshing.
Questions
Can I open a drop early?
Yes. You open every drop yourself from its page, so open it whenever you are ready, and close it early the same way. If you open before the opening time you set, change that time to now so your page does not count down. Left alone, it closes at the closing time you set.
What happens to orders if I cancel a drop?
The drop stops taking orders, and every order on it stays in your dashboard. Customers paid you directly, so you pay back anyone who paid, the same way they paid you.
Do you handle shipping?
No. A drop is for handing things over locally, at the pickup address on the drop page. There are no shipping labels, carrier rates, or pickup time slots.
Does BatchDrop remind customers before a drop closes?
No. The announcement goes out once, when you send it. If you want a last call, an offer is a one-off text you write yourself.
