SMS
SMS broadcasts
Your customers already read their texts. BatchDrop gives your store its own number, sends the announcement, and keeps the consent bookkeeping straight.
Included on Basic
Your store gets its own number
- Every store has a dedicated SMS number, so replies come back to you and not into a shared inbox. On Basic we set one up for you; on Pro you can bring your own.
Keywords handled automatically
- STOP opts someone out immediately. START and YES opt them back in. JOIN adds a new person to your list, already opted in. You do not write any of this logic.
Consent tracked in three places
- Whether someone is on your list, whether you may broadcast to them, and whether they have opted out at the carrier level are separate questions with separate answers. Broadcasts only ever reach people who cleared all three.
Replies land in an inbox
- Anyone who texts your number shows up as a conversation you can answer one-to-one — including people who have not opted into broadcasts.
An opt-in request you can send
- For customers you added by hand or imported, one button texts them asking to confirm. A YES flips them to opted in.
Offers, when there is no drop
- A drop broadcast announces a drop. When you have something else to say — a spare batch, a free slot this week — send an offer: one text, in your own words, to everyone who opted in.
What a monthly allowance means
- Each plan includes a monthly message allowance: 300 on Basic, 1,000 on Pro, 3,000 on Business. When it runs out, drop broadcasts and offers are refused before they start. Order texts, receipts, fulfilment texts, and your one-to-one replies still go out. Sign-in codes do not count.
Questions
Do I need my own Twilio account?
Not on Basic — we set up a number for your store. Pro lets you bring your own Twilio number if you already have one.
Can I text someone who has not opted in?
You can reply to them one-to-one from the inbox, because they contacted you first. Broadcasts and offers only go to people who explicitly opted in.
What happens if I use up my messages?
Broadcasts and offers stop until your allowance resets at the start of your next billing period, or until you upgrade. There are no overage charges and no top-ups. Texts about orders keep going out either way.
